Position: Commissioning, Service & Test Engineer

Salary: £45K - £55K plus paid overtime (potential earning of up to 35% of salary on top)

PRS Engineering has engaged with a new client and a global Test Equipment Manufacturer based in Worcestershire. With a full order book and due to a succession plan, we are seeking Commissioning, Service & Test Engineers to join this exciting and established business on a full time, permanent basis.
The Role:
To comply with the Company rules and regulations and endeavour to the best of their ability, to further the well-being, profitability and good name of the Company.
To maintain confidentiality of Company documentation, designs and processes and in particular, to guard against disclosure of Company technical and/or commercial information to any third parties. To honour the confidence of the Company’s customers in this respect.
The site support Engineer must recognise that customers are placed geographically in most parts of the world and therefore they must display a willingness to work anywhere (within any travel allowance agreement in force), given that any particular request is reasonable.Specifically on-site and in-house:
To undertake commissioning, servicing, training and testing of the Company’s product.
To ensure that all measurements called for are made with instrumentation maintained within the calibration system and to maintain the Department’s calibration system.
To ensure that all products perform in accordance with the Company’s technical specification and where deviation is noted, to use all correct procedures to remedy such faults.
To keep records of daily occurrences in diary and compile visit reports on return using the appropriate forms.
To take on as directed, in writing, site management roles.
To safeguard and maintain in good order, all Company equipment and records, including items hired and vehicles allocated to them.
To conduct themselves as befits a representative of the Company and to maintain contact with the Department as directed by the Site Support Manager.
When on site and working on specific jobs within the factory record all time on a time sheet so hours can be allocated onto project records.Requirements:
The successful candidate will hold a BSME degree or HNC/HND qualification in a Mechanical Engineering field of study. Ideally with a minimum overall result of a 2:1 or relevant experience.
Preferable 5 years proven working experience in commissioning & Service engineering
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use own initiative, to work within budgets and to deadlines
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
Creativity and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Strong technical writing skills
