BAM is seeking an Early Careers Advisor to support the delivery and development of our Early Careers programmes, including apprenticeships, undergraduate placements, and graduate schemes.
Reporting to the Apprenticeship Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for early careers talent, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
This role primarily focuses on our UK Specialist, Trades and Scottish graduate apprenticeship programmes which involves regular travel to key locations such as Scotland (e.g. Glasgow/Inverness), Leeds with additional UK regional travel as required to support our programme activity.
Your mission
• Support the full-cycle recruitment, enrolment and onboarding process for early careers roles, ensuring participants have the necessary resources to succeed.
• Act as a lead on the new Scotland graduate apprenticeship and UK Trades programme supported by the apprenticeship manager alongside other specialist apprenticeship programme development.
• Assist in delivering high-quality recruitment and assessment centres for apprentices and other early careers programmes.
• Provide guidance and pastoral support to apprentices/line managers throughout their journey, ensuring professional growth and programme engagement. Dealing with day-to-day queries.
• Maintain accurate programme records, track key metrics, and report insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, training providers, and external partners to ensure best-in-class programme delivery and compliance.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards, knowledge, skills, behaviours, and End-point assessments.
• Support and guide line managers with onboarding, performance management, and talent development initiatives.
• Deliver engaging inductions to ensure new hires are prepared for success as well as other learning-based initiatives.
• Drive professional development activities, working alongside the Professional Development Manager to provide relevant learning opportunities related to the apprenticeship.
• Own the programmes Early Careers event calendar providing support for internal/external communication and marketing.
Who are we looking for?
• Experience in HR, further education, training provision or early careers equivalent advisory roles, particularly in apprenticeships and/or graduate programmes.
• Experience of high-volume recruitment cycles and related HR systems
• Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• A proactive and supportive approach to guiding early careers talent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HR/reporting systems.
• Knowledge of apprenticeship funding, educational learning frameworks, and relevant regulations.
• Experience working with educational institutions or training providers.
• A passion for developing and supporting early careers professionals.
