This independent day and boarding School in North Essex has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified, inspiring and talented hockey professional to join our Sports department, coaching across all age ranges (Reception to Year 13) within the School.
Sport is a crucial part of all-round education at Felsted and the Director of Hockey plays a key role in leading, managing and regularly reviewing the strategic direction and development of hockey as a major sport for both girls and boys. This role would include entering teams into local and national competitions, taking tours, and participating in festivals as required to develop the hockey programme. As part of this, the successful applicant will play a leading role in developing the hockey coaching skills of relevant staff within the school.
The successful candidate will have a strong and compelling passion for hockey, willingness to coach home and away matches, as well as contributing more generally to the school’s wider co-curricular programme (e.g. the willingness and ability to coach a summer sport would be an advantage, as well as contributing to the boarding programme and as a tutor throughout the year). Please see our website for more information on our sport department. The School would seek to support any applicant who is currently playing to a high level themselves.
Felsted School has its own salary scale which compares favourably against most other independent schools and is generally above that of the maintained sector.
