Our National Large Loss team deals with the most complex and high value personal injury claims arising from Road Traffic Accident, Employer's liability and Public liability incidents. The claims are complex and technical which means they are interesting and exciting to work on. We are looking for a Paralegal to join our Large Loss team in London. Your primary role will be to provide assistance to senior case handlers in the team. Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting fee earners with various tasks including general case management, legal research, drafting of witness statements and reports to clients and preparation for court hearings
2. Attending client meetings and court hearings to support fee earners
3. Assisting with the instruction of Counsel and experts
4. Responding promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and other parties, with and without supervision
5. Achieving set financial and chargeable targets
6. Supporting the team’s business development activities
7. Ensuring compliance with key dates and Court deadlines
8. Organising and arranging expert appointments and conferences
This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role. As a Paralegal you will also ensure that you comply with the relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures, and consistently work in accordance with our values.
About You
You will have previous experience as a Paralegal and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require you to have:
9. The ideal candidate should have experience in personal injury litigation

14. Ability to multi-task and prioritise
15. Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets
16. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
17. Knowledge of CPR procedure with proven technical ability.
