Full Time Senior Medical Administrator Vacancy
Christiana Hartley Medical Practice requires an experienced, full time senior medical administrator to join our well-established and busy surgery team.
We are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent communication skills who is able to work under pressure and with initiative. Previous experience of working within the administration team of a GP Practice is essential.

Main duties of the job
Duties include the following:
* Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols.
* Administrative and clerical support to the clinical, management and administration team.
* Take responsibility of specific areas within Emis workflow, including processing onward referrals.
* Meet and greet patients in a professional and courteous manner.
* Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
* Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
* Taking messages and passing on information.
* Use practice emails and intranet, while adhering to strict guidelines.
* Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
* Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.
* To signpost patients to other services, where appropriate.
* Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.

Job responsibilities
Job Summary:
The purpose of the role is to:
* Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
* Undertake the duties of a Senior Administrator to ensure that a high level of patient service is maintained.
* Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team.
* Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years experience of working within a GP Practice.
* Experience and knowledge of using Emis database.
* Excellent organisation skills required with the ability to prioritise and work to very high standards of performance.
