Main Duties of the Job
To be responsible for the management of the practice nursing team, consisting of nurses and GP Healthcare Assistants. Working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder will ensure nursing services are delivered effectively to the entitled patient population. The lead practice nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well women and well man clinics. In addition to the above, the lead nurse will play an integral role in ensuring the practice achieves all National and Local Priorities, including but not limited to: QOF, IIF, PCN targets, DESs NHS health checks and LESs as well as supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedures.

The team consists of: 5 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 Managing Partner, 2 Musculoskeletal Care Practitioners, 2 ANPs, 1 Pharmacy Technician, 1 Pharmacist, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Clinical Care Coordinator, and 1 GP HCA. The team is supported by a hardworking and friendly reception and secretarial team. As an undergraduate teaching practice, we have close ties with Manchester University and Keele University. We are also a Training Practice and support GP Trainees and foundation doctors.
We are paperless, utilizing EMIS Web, Docman, Accurx, lab links, Lexacom, and Electronic Prescribing, and are high achievers in both national and local performance frameworks and enhanced services. We have fully digitized Lloyd George records and undertake self-care and workflow redirection.
