Assistant Facilities Manager (For the Domestic/ Cleaning Department)
The Role:
Operating across the Isle of Wight, the Assistant Facilities Manager works within the Estates & Facilities function directly supporting the management of cleanliness and fleet and other facilities related operational functions.

Pay Rates: Up to £18 per hour Umbrella or £16 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the management of the operational delivery of a comprehensive, high quality, cost effective Facilities service to a number of sites within Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
2. Assist with management of the in-house operational staff ensuring all performance targets are met including Health and Care Quality standards, whilst striving for improvement across the directorate.
3. To assist in audits and monitor Facilities services across IOW buildings to give assurance that external and internal contractual obligations in accordance with specifications and method statements are being met.
4. Maintain audit and monitoring procedures.
5. Develop and maintain excellent relationship with contractors, premises managers and clinical leads ensuring effective communications on all facilities issues.
6. To support in producing reports, make recommendations to management and work with clinical and premises managers to ensure all facilities standards are met and maintained.
7. Support in implementing national and local initiatives in relation to Facilities Services and provide feedback in support of a coordinated approach to the collation of information in relation to the Trusts returns.
8. Ensure a high-quality service is established and maintained with the site facilities. Continually developing the service and innovating in all aspects of service delivery.
9. Provide line management for the housekeeping staff. In doing so they manage all main ’front of house’ functions with their team often acting as the first and last point of patient contact within a site.
10. Day to day co-ordination of Facilities, functions, incident monitoring and reporting, risk escalation and management of consumables, also key to this role are quality auditing of the physical commodities and support in the development of strategies.
11. To assist management with input into the establishment, development and delivery of strategies to increase quality and utilisation of facilities assets in line with national cleaning standards.
12. The post holder may, with their agreement, which should not reasonably be withheld, be required to undertake other duties as required, which fall within the grading of this post, to meet the needs of this new and developing service.

13. Experience of line management and HR policy and procedures
14. Experienced professional with knowledge of FM services, housekeeping and auditing standards
15. Ability to deliver high service standards through effective management of staff
16. Experience of working in an ever-changing environment
17. Experience of managing of KPI and SLAs
