Your new role
As the Head of Health and Safety, you will act and be held as the responsible lead for Compliance and Health and Safety across the full council, including Fire Safety. You will be tasked with creating, implementing, teaching and enforcing all regulations and policies related to Health and Safety which in turn, will see you act as a personal advisor for council members and committees. You will hold the responsibility of the H&S representative for any and all major incident working groups. This role is perfect for candidates that can support and oversee cultural change towards H&S by taking complete ownership of the specialist area.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need a strong background of H&S within the Public Sector at a senior level. You will be able to demonstrate and provide detailed reports where you have influenced and managed H&S policies and procedures. You will have a complete understanding of all current laws and regulations around compliance, H&S and Fire Safety. The ideal candidate must hold a NEBOSH qualification focused toward H&S and you must hold a Fire related qualification.
