Family Support Worker We are working in partnership with the a Local authority in North Somerset who are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to assist the Children with Disabilities Team 3-6 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis. Full time positions - 37 hours. Location - North Somerset, BS23. Rate of Pay - £17.72 per hour. (negotiable on experience) Responsibilities: Providing support to families, empowering them to address various challenges, reducing problems and risks. You will help improve the overall quality of life for children and young people up to the age of 18 years through the provision of a high quality, planned and time limited service within the home, community and other settings. About the Role: Support children, young people, and families across Children's Services, ensuring safety and positive outcomes through targeted interventions. Work intensively with families using evidence-based approaches to drive positive change. Build strong relationships using a strengths-based, Signs of Safety approach to improve parenting, school attendance, and access to specialist support services. Fulfil duties under relevant legislation, ensuring child welfare and safeguarding. Develop effective relationships with families to encourage positive behaviour change. Collaborate with agencies and social workers to assess, plan, and review family support. Provide community-based support, helping children remain within their families where possible. Refer families to appropriate services and coordinate intensive support as needed. Work within child and family plans (Early Help, Child Protection, Children in Need, etc.), setting clear goals and expected outcomes. Experience Needed; Children with disabilities experience. NVQ Level 3 / 4 in Children or young people. Local Authority / Public Sector.
