Pay Grade: NHS AfC Band 2: £23,615 per annum (Pro rata)
We have an exciting opportunity for 8 Domestic Assistants to join our team on a permanent basis. This position is well-suited to a team player with a customer focused approach and is looking to gain experience within a healthcare environment.
Job Role:
Duties will include all or some of the following tasks depending on the allocated work area:
• Floor cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, wet pickup, spray cleaning and buffing.
• Kitchen duties including removal of refuse, cleaning of all surfaces and cleaning of cookers/counters/refrigerators.
• Cleaning of sanitary areas including toilets, basins, bidets, baths and showers. Replenishment of supplies of soap, paper towels and toilet rolls and collection and removal of rubbish.
• Bed Area duties such as damp dusting of bed top, bottom and underneath. Damp dusting of low ledges and high dusting and cleaning of furniture.
• Corridors, Stairs, Lift and Circulation Areas: Floor cleaning including skirting’s and/or covings, damp dusting of fire equipment, wall telephones and telephone booths.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, work well under pressure, able to work alone and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will also be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.
This role is subject to Standard DBS disclosure.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• General Secondary Education
• Able to work as part of a team
• Customer focused approach
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training and any other training identified by the department
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to changing demands at short notice
• Flexible approach – must be willing to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service
