Job Description An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a 2 LES Operative 3s to work within our Parks and Open Spaces service on a permanent basis. NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services. Position Details Applicants should be proficient in operating complex machinery requiring a high level of maintenance and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of horticulture and specialist practical skills such as landscaping and fine turf maintenance. You must be adaptable to ever changing workloads, have the ability to see tasks through to completion in a busy environment and to work with, guide and motivate other team members. Knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety and public safety are essential, as are good communication skills as you will be dealing with the public on a daily basis in the park. A current full driving licence is an essential requirement of the role. A Horticulture Level 2 (SCQF Level 6) or a Sports Turf management (SVQ Level 2) qualification, First Aid certificate, and a PA1/PA6 Pesticide Application certificate are desirable. Contract Details Weekly Hours: an average of 37 per week Work Pattern: 4 on, 4 off shift pattern Annual Salary: £24,183.81 - £25,716.37 on an incremental scale Additional Payments: In addition to the annual salary the role attracts an annual non-standard work pattern/hours (NSWPH) payment of £2,091 & a working context & demand (WCD) payment of £1,127.
