We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join us at our Buckingham site.
Your Mission
As the Engineering Manager, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term operational safety and maintainability of all UK facilities. Your mission is to actively and measurably reduce production costs by driving efficiencies in both work processes and capital projects.
You are the cornerstone of operational performance, overseeing SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment), Quality, Service, Cost, and People within the maintenance department. Your leadership in implementing continuous improvement programs is crucial for achieving Operational Excellence, in close collaboration with the Head of Manufacturing.
Key Accountabilities
* Is responsible for full compliance of their department to all applicable legal regulations and international food safety standards: safety, functional competencies, working conditions, environment, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Prerequisite Programs (PRP), British Retail Consortium (BRC), etc.
* Contact point for the total maintenance of the plant, buildings of the site and the utilities.
* Optimal alignment of maintenance with the indicated production and asset strategy
* Providing the expertise where required to support the Operations Director in delivering a World Class Production Facility
* Support the logistics planning and the production planning, and the relevant internal and external regulations on quality and safety.
* The effective and efficient balancing of maintenance supply and demand in the medium and long term as a key support for the Engineering Team on-sites, as regards both quantity and quality.
* The organising of maintenance in the most effective and efficient manner
* Coaching and developing maintenance department employees; guiding the team in such a way to attain the highest service level; and ensuring that the competency level of the team is continuously improved by providing the necessary (internal and external) training.
* Drawing up and managing the maintenance budgets and targets in alignment with Operations Director. Reporting and managing the related KPIs (Meantime Between Failure, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, etc.)
* Monitoring the financial flow through the organisation from ordering to invoicing for maintenance related expenditures.
* Managing an internal warehouse to support the availability of all necessary spare parts in an economical way
* Managing the automation architecture of the whole production site
* Ensure site competence to operate the utilities & HVAC installations (waste water treatment, thermal oil, NH3 and steam, compressed dry air, well & city water and electricity supplies,…) through the development of local teams.
* Fulfilling the energy consumption monitoring and all related activities.
* Responsible for the life cycle, asset & risk management of all utilities & facilities related equipment (& participating in it for all other equipment) in order to build up on investment plan for the site
* Co-ordinating and managing investment projects for all sites/installations as well as automation related projects, including on the regular reporting and control of projects across the UK & Ireland.
* Responsible for the calibration activities on production equipment on critical weigh systems, temperature & flow measurements
* Subdomain lead SAP-Plant Maintenance
* Country Asset Care Lead
Who are we looking for?
We're seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader who can inspire and guide their team with a clear vision.
The ideal candidate will:
* Bring at least 7 years of experience in food manufacturing, including 3 years in a managerial role
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Have strong proficiency in data processing tools like SAP and Excel
* Be knowledgeable in preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, as well as autonomous maintenance principles
* Be willing to travel regularly to our Liverpool site until early 2026 to support our site relocation
