The Role
As a result of internal promotions and team expansion, we are looking to hire a Senior Technical Project Manager. At Sentec we apply our knowledge of fundamental science, electronics, software, analytics, and design across a wide range of advanced products, both within the Xylem group, and to a number of selected third parties, including some familiar household brands. From brainstorming to prototype to manufacture and production process, our clients benefit from outstanding ideas and class-leading products and services.
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of technical projects internally and for our external clients. These will range in scope, complexity, duration, and size according to the specific projects – giving a great variety to the role. You will be working in a rapidly evolving industry at an exciting time for technologists developing solutions for the sustainability agenda. To be successful, you will need to demonstrate leadership in pursuit of technical solutions and novel ideas, have a hands-on approach to problem-solving and ultimately managing projects against time, budget, and client expectations. The position is largely based in our Cambridge office; however, you will have the opportunity for some travel UK-wide, within Europe, or the United States.
Key Skills and Experience
* Manage several Technical R&D projects simultaneously.
* Prioritize and manage your work.
* Facilitator to our project teams, enabling them to achieve project goals.
* Support inclusive and open project working.
* Manage risks, opportunities, and expectations, ensuring technical leads and internal stakeholders are consulted.
* Contribute to proposals for new projects and identify additional project opportunities.
* Work with other project managers to balance the workload for all.
* Comfortable communicating effectively and sensitively at all levels within the business.
* Strong organization skills and demonstrate ability to achieve results.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Participation in activities as part of our corporate responsibility program Watermark.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Technical or Scientific degree or background and experience.
* Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams.
* Project Management qualification(s) are desirable but not essential.
* Experience of project management tools and methodologies would be an advantage; however, this is not as important as the correct approach to complex challenges.
