We have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our North West region, aligned with our Manchester team. Location : Salford, Manchester Hours : 40 Hours per week What will you be responsible for? As Managing Quantity surveyor you will work closely with the Regional Commercial Manager to oversee surveying staff and key projects ensuring commercial performance is achieved from the conversion of projects through to final account. As Managing Quantity Surveyor you will take a key role in ensuring the conversion of stage two bids and successful delivery through your own direct input and management of others to deliver against the Kier Construction business plan. In this role you will be act as a subject matter expert and mentor to more junior staff taking a fundamental role in their development. Your day to day will include: Taking the lead on stage 2 bids, managing PCSA for high value / complex projects Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR on your own projects and checking an collating CVR info across your team (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports) Managing team workloads, assigning resource to projects and ensuring the correct level of resource is balanced with skill set specific to projects Checking and collating commercial information from team managing reporting schedules, ensuring they are met. Balancing your own project workload with that of managing people, ensuring that business commercial strategy is communicated through all levels. What are we looking for? This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if: You hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying You can demonstrate experience working on and converting large 2 stage bids within the construction sector. You have amassed high level knowledge of NEC and JCT Contract conditions. Possess Confidence in dealing with client reps, sub contractors and internal stakeholders at senior level. Have the ability to manage and mentor staff, allocating resource and acting as subject matter expert.
