Job summary
London North West Healthcare is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about continuous improvement to cover a fixed term secondment gap within the Financial Transformation and Strategy team. The individual will proactively support with the efficiency and planning reporting and scoping activities within the Trust. They will facilitate the organisation in delivering and identifying efficiency opportunities through use of national benchmarking tools and has a interest in finance innovation.
Main duties of the job
This role will provide comprehensive financial advice to the Transformation function and the wider organisation on various programmes of work related to waste reduction opportunities.
The post holder will
Be tasked with helping deliver the Trusts Waste Reduction Targets via high quality financial support to the Head of Financial Strategy & Transformation and the wider organisation.
Undertake financial modelling and production of analytics, to support the financial planning and delivery of the Trust's Waste Reduction Plans.
Undertake benefits tracking and monitoring of the Waste Reduction Programme, using a variety of tools and techniques and contribute to idea generation.
Work across the transformation function and other areas of the organisation, contributing to the development of the Trust's strategy and Finance department improvement plans.
There is an expectation that the post holder will have a background in provider delivery, preferably with acute experience. The post holder will be required to generate high calibre Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. The post holder will be required to show initiative and be self-directive when required to deliver the objectives of their project areas.
The post holder must be able to work constructively and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across the Trust. The post holder must be able to prioritise as effectively as possible in order to meet the finance directorate and wider organisation targets.

Job responsibilities
Deliver high calibre finance support and leadership for the Trusts Waste Reduction Programme. Contribute more broadly to idea generation in how the finance & transformation function supports Divisions and Corporate functions.
To provide financial information, advice and support to the Transformation Team by meeting regularly with members of the team. Ensure that the financial delivery of the relevant programmes is understood and that any potential problems with delivery are identified early enough for mitigating action to be taken.
To have responsibility for development and maintenance of financial performance dashboards including monitoring of performance and providing advice on the financial impact of mitigating actions as necessary.
To assist Directors and Managers in identifying and achieving efficiency targets, income generation targets and ensuring value for money, undertaking reviews of all existing practices with the aim of improving efficiency.
To review, for the division/directorate, the Trusts costs relative to national norms and other provider units and establishing verification of significant variations.
To increase the financial capability of management teams through the provision of financial awareness training and continuous support for senior managers and service leads within the division.
Participate in ad-hoc working groups on particular issues as required, representing the finance department.
To provide input as required to the Trusts statutory financial reports.
The post-holder will ensure that staff are fully engaged in the process of change management, and in particular, that Clinicians are fully involved at the forefront of service improvement projects.
Support the Head of Financial Strategy and Transformation in ensuring the costs and benefits of transformation schemes are fully reflected in Trust-wide financial plans and strategies.
Use a range of data sources including NHS Benchmarking, SLR, PLiCs and Model Hospital & GIRFT to understand and communicate where transformation opportunities lie.
Be aware of internal and external targets to achieve in respect of service delivery and improving and progressing patient care; contribute and work to achieve these targets.
Support the development of a culture that drives continuous reform and the uptake of initiatives that will deliver excellence and financial sustainability
Promote a culture of innovation and productivity using financial models to support cost improvement and productivity concepts, business cases and other activity as required.
Help project support and manage change programmes across the organisation within the required timeframes and budgetary constraints using a structured methodology, ensuring effective stakeholder consultation, stakeholder management, and risk and contingency management.
Identify and manage current and potential risks that may impact on the project outcomes or ability to achieve its objectives, ensure action is taken to mitigate against risk and retain a record of all risk management activity in a register that is kept updated at all times.
