Position Overview:
Our Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical Team is seeking to hire a Counter Sales Associate with 1 – 3 years of relevant experience to join our Rochester branch. For the right candidate, we are willing to be flexible on years of experience and provide internal training.

Responsibilities:
1. Meet and greet all customers at point of sale with service, respect, and knowledge.
2. Consult with customers to analyze both current and future needs to determine the most appropriate level of service/sales.
3. Use company-provided systems to improve planning and collect customer history.
4. Maintain a neat counter area and product displays.
5. Review open order report on a weekly basis.
6. Build and maintain customer relationships.
7. Demonstrate comprehensive company product knowledge to customers and effectively articulate company’s competitive advantage.
8. Remain up to date on market, customers, suppliers, and competitors.
9. Learn and demonstrate competence in features and functionality of all product lines.
10. Provide occasional order picking and miscellaneous warehouse duties, as the need arises.
Requirements:
1. 1 – 3 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical industry, with inside/counter sale-oriented background.
2. Experience in electrical industry is a plus.
3. Previous experience in environment with walk-in/call-in customer orders and assisting in plumbing, HVAC and electrical related issues.
4. Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
5. Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
6. Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Wholesale distribution experience is preferred.
2. Applicable sales experience is preferred, but training will be provided to the right candidate.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
1. This job operates in a retail setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While a somewhat sedentary role, frequent standing on feet up to 8 hours/day and some lifting or carrying of items up to 50 pounds may occasionally be required.
