We are working with a well known cleint in the Asphalt Sector, they are recruiting for a high profile role as a plant manager based in Birmingham. You will be responsible for leading and managing the team in the running of a busy Asphalt plant. Ensuring H&S is prioritized whilst ensuring the production needs of our customers are met. Reporting to the Area Asphalt Manager, key tasks will include: Ensuring compliance with all Company and statutory Health, Safety and Environmental policies and regulations, promoting best practice with the team in all aspects of the operation. Ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved by providing a best-in-class service and experience for collections and deliveries alike. Managing the effective operation and maintenance of all assets to maximise productivity and control costs against agreed budgets. Management, planning, and implementation of preventative and unplanned maintenance, to ensure the efficient operation of the site Commitment to managing and motivating plant staff on a day-to-day basis, focusing on individual personal development through personal support and the identification and implementation of specific training needs Maintaining administrative records in all areas of the business including Health, Safety and the Environment; Personnel; Sales; Procurement, Quality and Energy Management Addiotnal Information - Responsible for a team of 4 – one assistant manager and three multiskilled operatives As it’s a small team this is a very hands on position – the plant manager will carry out all positions (mixing/shovel/weighbridge etc) on a daily basis 48 Hours per week, 2200 annualised hours contract Typical hours – Mon-Fri 6.00-3.00 and alternative Saturdays 6-9 – expectation to be flexible (ie breakdowns/maintenance) Position comes with a company van/fuel card Salary up to £43k depending on experience Ideally we would like the candidate to have worked in our industry with asphalt experience a real benefit Experience and Qualifications required - Experience gained in Quarry / Coating plant operations Competence in electrical and mechanical maintenance programmes Competent user of IT systems, including SAP Excellent interpersonal, communication and people management skills SHE NVQ Level 4 achieved or progressing Up to date personal CPD folder To apply for this role that is integral to the business please click on the apply link and if you are suitable for the role we will get back to you with in 24 hours
