Job Description:
Are you an experienced support worker seeking a role in education? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism?
A friendly and unique Special School in Chippenham is seeking an Autism Support Worker to join their team full-time as soon as possible. The school caters for children and young people with Autism as their primary needs. There are also pupils with Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language Needs, and ADHD. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Support Worker or recent Graduate to further their experience with SEND.
As an Autism Support Worker, you will work alongside the class teacher and provide 1-2-1 support during lessons. You will build strong relationships with all pupils and learn to cater to each of their social and emotional needs. You will help manage any challenging behaviour that may arise and ensure each pupil is engaged and focused in class. Above all else, you will help make the classroom a fun and exciting environment.
The school is looking for an enthusiastic and bubbly Autism Support Worker who has a passion for supporting vulnerable young people. A recent graduate would be perfect for this role, with a relevant degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology. Any experience working with Autism would be beneficial, whether professional or personal. Empathy and flexibility are also important skills!
The school day runs from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, and the school is looking for an Autism Support Worker who can work full-time, Monday to Friday.
