The Forest of Dean Community Schools Federation (Parkend and Yorkley Primary Schools) are looking for at least one SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Federation team. This position has come about due to having two children with EHCP’s recently join each of our schools. The contract(s) will be fixed term until August 2025, however is very likely to be extended. Hours are yet to be set due to the children only just receiving EHCP’s. Hours could potentially be full time (8.30 – 3.15 daily) and this job could be split between two people if required.

1. Have knowledge and experience of working with children in the primary phase.
2. Demonstrate a commitment to supporting children with a range of needs.
3. Have experience of working with children 1-1 previously.
4. Have a passion for developing strategies that enable children to overcome barriers to learning in order to become successful learners.
5. Are well organised and energetic.
6. Are flexible, positive and enjoy working in busy school environments.
7. Can work under pressure, have a good sense of humour, and show resilience.
8. Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community.
9. Are professional, have high expectations and support the goals and learning of all our pupils.
10. Understand and follow all safeguarding procedures.
11. Have the ability to travel between both school sites.
