About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Manager to join our Estates Office within the Finance team.
In this role, you will support the Head of Commercial and Reporting in the development and delivery of cost management services for internal and external projects.
You will provide comprehensive cost management, feasibility assessments, preconstruction, and construction phase services, ensuring the accuracy of project quality, progress, and financial reporting.
About You
Key Responsibilities
* Provide early-stage cost advice and feasibility studies for new builds, refurbishments, major maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
* Assist with developing lifecycle cost assessments and managing cost performance from inception through project completion.
* Advise on contract forms and manage the preparation of contracts with internal and external consultants.
* Implement a peer review process to ensure value for money throughout project progress.
* Collaborate with the Estates Head of Procurement to develop strategies for efficient procurement, ensuring compliance with legislation and university financial procedures.
* Support cost reporting and analysis for the Capital and Revenue 5-year planning process.
* Provide technical guidance to team members and act as a "technical expert" in relevant professional disciplines.
* Contribute to the Post Project Review process, ensuring all projects meet required guidance standards.
