Job Purpose:
The supervision of classes to cover for teacher absence and the provision of other student support services and clubs.
Main duties:
Supervision of classes to cover for teacher absence.
This supervision will include the following responsibilities:
1. Ensure all students are accurately
2. Ensuring that work set by the absent teacher is distributed to students and
3. Supervising the completion of set tasks by students while providing explanations that enable them to problem solve and arrive at solutions.
4. Modelling solutions and answers for
5. Manage student behaviour so that the class is not disrupted or disruptive, and follow school behavioural guidelines.
6. Praise students who are making an effort and using aptitude, follow academy rewards
7. Actively support and implement the Hartshill Academy behaviour and discipline policy; both in class and throughout the academy.
8. Cover as a tutor group mentor; registering students, accompanying them to assemblies, lead mentor time activities and promote their well-being and encourage their full participation in all aspects of school life.
9. Support the SEN team with whole class delivery and/or individual student support and
10. Individual learning assistance with a single or small group of students as directed by a teacher or school leaders, providing support that enables those students to problem solve and arrive at solutions.
