I'm delighted to be working on behalf of my prestigious client who are seeking a Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee the daily operations of a 2-bed home in Barnsley. The role is responsible for providing high-quality care, promoting the rights of young people, and leading a team to support their development.
Location: Barnsley
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 39 per week
Salary: £41,540.76 (with potential to earn up to £44,740.76 through bonuses)
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the home to ensure high standards of care in line with relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.
* Lead a team of care workers to support young people's physical, emotional, and social development.
* Oversee the recruitment, induction, training, and development of staff.
* Ensure the home maintains a safe environment, including compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
* Monitor and manage budgets, financial transactions, and the maintenance of premises.
* Maintain accurate records and provide regular management reports.
* Chair internal and external meetings and contribute to organisational development.
* Take on-call responsibilities and, if necessary, sleep-in shifts.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Experience managing a team within a children's residential care setting.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Ability to build effective relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies.
* Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
* Ability to manage challenging situations with emotional resilience.
* Diploma level 5 or equivalent in childcare, or willingness to work towards it.
* Full UK driving licence or access to transport.
