Nocturnal Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Family Support Worker to join the Disabled Children’s Family Support Team.
You will be assessing the Children/Young people to ensure their needs are met by being the first point of contact when issues arise such as budgeting or in the event of a difficulty/crisis.
Family Support Workers also need to be able to provide support to families in poverty, victims of domestic abuse and mental health difficulties. If English is not their first language you will need to provide adequate access to their rights/benefits and appropriate housing if required.

£21-27 p/h depending on location

Job Responsibilities:
* Previous experience as a Family Support Worker is Essential as you will be supporting Disables children/Young people in need through their child in need plans
* Ability to work a number of caseloads, and ensuring the right support is in place to meet their needs
* Taking part in supervisions
* Having the right core values such as equality, empowerment and the ability to demonstrate this in your work
* Arrange child in need reviews for children and young people
* Gathering information for the review process from the child, parents and professionals
* Completing the minutes/uploading them to the system once a Child's review has been concluded
* Ensure that goals are SMART and personalised to the child/young person and their family
* Have an understanding of personal budgets and their options for managing this process, including direct payments
* Liaise with commissioned services and other teams in the council to set up services in accordance with the support plan and work with the family to ensure they are accessing their current support plan
* Working directly with families throughout the year providing emotional and practical support through short-term interventions that would enable them to manage better and be more resilient
Job Requirements:
* Candidates must have a valid Adult/Children DBS certificate on the update service (registered online) or you must be able to do a new DBS
* Valid Right to work documents
* 1 year + experience as a Family Support Worker
NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care or equivalent (Desirable but not essential)
