This is an exciting opportunity to work in Ophthalmology as a Band 3 Clerical Officer for the Orthoptic and Optometry departments. You will be part of multi disciplinary with a varied mix of administrative and patient facing duties.
You will be part of a team responsible for the front-line clerical service for the orthoptic and optometry department. This involves locating and preparing health records for clinics, welcoming patients to the Optometry and Orthoptic Department, booking them in and out of the clinics. It also includes assisting in the management and booking of Orthoptic and Optometry waiting lists by actioning referrals from ERS and emails, cashing clinics up, arranging follow up appointments and dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries from patients, relatives /carers. You will work closely with the rest of the clerical team, as well as the Orthoptists, Optometrists and other clinical members of the multi disciplinary Ophthalmology team. Self motivation, showing initiative, being flexible with your daily tasks and paying attention to detail are essential.
