During the interview process all candidates will be required to undertake an initial driving assessment (at normal road speed) with a qualified Advanced Driving Instructor (ADI) who will assess each candidates suitability for progressing to completing a Standard Response Driving Qualification. The outcome of the initial assessment, which will assess attitude, awareness around vehicle preparation, vehicle control and driving safely, will form part of the overall interview criteria. In order to be certified as a Blue Light Response Driver, the successful candidate will have to agree to the terms and conditions set out in the NWSSP Study Leave Procedure, participate in a 2 week intensive driving course funded by NWSSP and pass the final assessment. Failure to successfully pass the course could result in the offer of employment being withdrawn.
