Job Description: Registered Care Manager Location: Near to Telford Salary: £45,000 per annum Claire at Amber Mace is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Registered Care Manager to lead and manage a small residential home, which specializes in providing high-quality care for younger adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and challenging behaviors. As the Registered Care Manager, you will play a key role in the operational management of the home, ensuring that residents receive the highest standards of care and support in a safe, nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Leadership & Staff Management: o Oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of the residential home. o Lead, motivate, and support a team of care staff, ensuring they deliver person-centered care. o Provide guidance, training, and supervision to staff, ensuring compliance with care standards and regulatory requirements. o Conduct performance reviews, monitor staff performance, and address any concerns. • Care Planning & Delivery: o Ensure the development and implementation of individualized care plans that meet the needs and preferences of each resident. o Regularly review and update care plans, ensuring they reflect changes in residents' health, behavior, and well-being. o Manage and coordinate care for residents with complex needs, including mental health conditions and challenging behaviors. • Compliance & Regulatory Requirements: o Ensure compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and other relevant regulations. o Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation. o Prepare for and manage CQC inspections, ensuring the home meets or exceeds required standards. • Quality Assurance & Improvement: o Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, making adjustments as necessary to enhance resident outcomes. o Drive continuous improvement within the home, developing innovative care approaches and solutions. o Implement and promote safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. • Communication & Collaboration: o Establish effective communication with residents, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes. o Build and maintain positive relationships with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other external agencies. o Ensure families are kept informed of developments in the care of their loved ones. Essential Qualifications & Experience: • Registered Manager with current registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role in a care setting, preferably within a residential home for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and/or challenging behaviors. • A solid understanding of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, and relevant legislation. • Relevant qualifications such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent. • Proven experience in leading and motivating care teams to deliver high standards of care. • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, including learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Desirable Skills: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. • Ability to manage budgets, staffing levels, and resources efficiently. • A compassionate and empathetic approach to care delivery. • Knowledge of challenging behaviors and effective strategies for managing them.
