Are you an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a skilled individual to support the Project Surveyor with financial and contractual control on allocated contracts within the Southern Home Counties business unit. This position is project-based, with flexibility for occasional remote working.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with costing activities, utilizing a sound understanding of project cost coding structures.
* Measure completed works for interim and final accounts, ensuring agreements with client and subcontractor representatives.
* Provide detailed financial and surveying-related information to senior management, including performance reviews.
* Collate and maintain accurate site records necessary for interim and final account payments and cost reports.
* Support the preparation of project costings and ensure compliance with financial objectives.
* Must have DFE (Department For Eduction) project expereince
Key Tasks:
* Measure works for payment purposes and assist in preparing final accounts.
* Maintain comprehensive records of materials received and works completed.
* Assist in providing cost reports and forecasts for ongoing projects.
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial objectives are met.
* Work on projects across various disciplines, including Education and Healthcare, with a strong understanding of DfE and Design & Build projects.
Requirements:
* Experience in the main contracting market, ideally within Education and Healthcare sectors.
* Strong understanding of construction techniques and financial processes.
* Relevant qualifications, such as a BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
* Membership of a professional body (CIOB or RICS) preferred.
* Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a team.
