Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have 10 years experience in roofing industry and be proficient in the use of various power tools. This role involves working at heights and requires a strong understanding of building structures, materials, and safety protocols. The Roofer will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs on residential and commercial buildings.
Duties
* Install roofing systems, including shingles, tiles, and flat roofs.
* Repair damaged roofs by replacing or repairing shingles, tiles, or other materials.
* Use power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and install roofing materials.
* Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine project specifications.
* Fabricate roofing components as needed to ensure proper fit and function.
* Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials safely on-site.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and masons to ensure quality workmanship.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations.
* Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with building codes.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Roofer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and safety practices.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights without fear.
* Proficiency in using power tools such as drills, saws, and nail guns.
* Familiarity with masonry work is advantageous but not essential.
* Basic carpentry skills are preferred for structural modifications when necessary.
* Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Strong physical stamina and the ability to work long hours in various weather conditions.
