What We Are Looking For...
The Commercial Finance Analyst is responsible for planning and reporting for the Supply Chain and Operational Risk areas of the business. Working alongside and supporting numerous operational stakeholders, this role is instrumental in ensuring there is clear visibility & control of costs and investment spend. This role plays a key part in supporting business stakeholders to make the right decisions to ensure value for money from spend. It's a great role for someone with existing excellent management accounts and reporting skills and for someone wanting to develop commercial acumen and business partnering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ownership of the period end process and messaging including journal postings, variance analysis balance sheet and management dashboard reports.
* Using operational and financial insight review the weekly/monthly warehouse and transport performance reports issued by our 3PL provider and ensure costs are accurately reflected within the monthly P&L.
* Monitor and project cashflow of the 3PL spend.
* Produce a period end outturn view and highlight any risks & opportunities which may continue going forward.
* Ad-hoc analysis to provide stakeholders with additional insight and inform decision making.
* Streamline processes and reporting to make reporting and analysis more efficient and relevant to aid stakeholder decision making.
* Supporting in the preparation of annual budgets and reforecast.
* Ownership of key models to support understanding of spend and to influence future decisions.
* Support the Senior Commercial Finance Manager with project evaluations and post investment reviews.
For this role, you will have:
* Previous experience of Management Accounting and Budgeting.
* A tenacious appetite for improving what we do.
* Excellent communication and analytical skills and a strong team player.
* Competent, quick and accurate Excel skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Be at the Finalist stage or recently gained a relevant accounting qualification.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and strong time management.
* Be inquisitive.
* Supply Chain experience, particularly with 3PLs, an advantage but not essential.
