Overview of the Job:
What does a junior CAD technician do?
Newly qualified and junior CAD technicians may initially work on small projects, making revisions to existing drawings. After gaining experience, your role may develop and allow you to be more involved in the design process and work on larger projects.
As a Junior CAD Technician, you'll play a key role in turning conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings. Your technical skills and attention to detail will help us turn big ideas into even bigger projects.
Here's what you'll be doing:
1. Creating detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD
2. Collaborating with architects and structural engineers to ensure design accuracy
3. Reviewing and updating drawings as needed
4. Posting and downloading drawings to various EDMS
5. Participating in project meetings and presenting your work
Here are the skills you'll need:
1. Understand CAD Commands
2. Semi Proficient in AutoCAD (City and Guilds certification preferable)
3. Some Knowledge of drafting and design principles
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
5. Some form of further Education after GCSEs/A Levels
6. A team player with a keen eye for detail
