Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Dartford, Kent Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team based in Dartford. The successful candidate will support the senior quantity surveyors with the management of costs and contracts for a variety of construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on schedule. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and final accounts. Support in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration. Monitor and report on the financial performance of projects. Measure and value works on site, preparing accurate bills of quantities. Assist in the preparation of variations and claims. Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Help with procurement processes and subcontractor management. Maintain accurate records of contracts, costings, and any correspondence. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and best practices. Provide support in risk management and cost forecasting. Requirements: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry is essential. Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent) preferred. Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and financial management principles. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
