As part of our UK Procurement team based in Preston you will gain a real insight into full Procurement management process of a world class manufacturing facility and will have a direct impact on business results through supporting and leading cross functional projects. You’ll join an extensive community of global Buyers with opportunities to seek best practices across the BDR Thermea network. The Indirects Buyer will bring sourcing expertise and best practice knowledge to generate savings and efficiencies across a wide range of Indirect categories, throughout the UK. Together with colleagues within the Procurement Function you will co-create buying strategies for the UK. You will be responsible for stakeholder management, strategic procurement of goods and services for all relevant Indirect categories and small capital investment projects, supplier management and the operational and tactical activities. You will manage and implement internal governance control policies related to Procurement functions and utilise Procurement tools such as SourceDogg, M3 and EcoVadis. This role requires advanced skills in sourcing, supplier relationship management, influencing (internally and externally), and supplier compliance. You’ll further develop your core procurement skills in negotiation, risk mitigation, contract management and supply base development. You'll also have the chance to understand our complex factory environments and interconnected functions. You will be provided with the support to gain the CIPS qualification if not already achieved. A curious mindset is essential because you'll be looking for improvements in the way we source and supply our portfolio. Strong record of value delivery is highly desirable. It's important you are sharp with IT systems and numbers, have a good understanding of financial basics and an appreciation of supply chains. Who will you be working with? T he Indirect Buyer is responsible for efficiently executing purchasing processes. This will involve driving strategic procurement initiatives, evaluating suppliers, managing relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, engaging in administrative activities, and supporting contract management processes. Key Accountabilities and Deliverables Identifying and leading Procurement activities bringing cost savings. Actively participate in: Full end to end tendering activities, including e-Auctions Supplier negotiations Supplier selection, onboarding and contract preparation Provide active and frequent support to local and global internal and external stakeholders Adhere to and maintain all Procurement processes and systems in line with Baxi Policies Categories include but are not limited to: Warehouse Operations Logistics Engineering, (MRO/Spare Parts) PPE & Workwear Education and Professional Experience Level 4 CIPS qualified, (or working towards). Previous procurement experience managing a wide range of suppliers. Operating at the same level within a relevant industry, desirable but not essential. Proactive, highly motivated with a self-starter attitude. Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills to be able to build effective relationships and influence a wide variety of stakeholders. Committed to deliverables and deadlines. Tenacious with the ability to see tasks through to completion. Effective team worker with ability to work across various functions and levels of the business. Ability to segment the supply base to optimise the number and mix of suppliers to direct resource investments accordingly. Proficient in collecting, handling, analysing and presenting various types of data. What we offer: Our package is made up of basic salary plus a variable incentive.
