The Ringmead Medical Group is looking for a pro-active, dynamic and experienced nurse to join its ever growing team in the capacity of a Practice Nurse.
This is a varying role and will suit a candidate with a flexible attitude, ability to multi task, a keen eye for detail, works well under pressure and has a great sense of humour.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. The practice nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well women and well man clinics, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure.
Job responsibilities
Job Responsibilities may include:
1. Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
2. Cytology
3. Wound care
4. Removal of Sutures
5. Travel Clinic
6. ECGs
7. Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
8. Venepuncture
9. Monitoring and management of specified long term conditions such as: asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, dementia, cardiovascular disease and hypertension.
10. Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
11. Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
12. Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
13. Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
14. Interest in Contraception.
15. Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
16. Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses
17. Maintaining Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
18. Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
19. Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
20. Working with Immunisations and Vaccine Administrator to support the ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
21. Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
22. At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
23. A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks
24. Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
25. Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
