We're looking for someone to join our Warwick Trident team as a Work Based Learning Manager in Engineering on a permanent, full time basis.
About the Role
The post holder will join the existing Motor Vehicle and Land Based Engineering team and to work with the Head of Work Based Learning to provide employers with the necessary support to employ apprentices, and to continue to support the apprentices in the work placements. Responsibilities include:
1. To carry out Health and Safety checks and Risk Assessments.
2. To visit students and Apprentices in work settings to carry out reviews, Assess, Train and offer support, to liaise with Employers.
3. To provide a point of contact for employers and other agencies as necessary.
4. To be responsible for producing and updating data relating to Work Based Learning and Apprenticeships, and for carrying out any necessary administrative tasks related to their caseload of employers and apprentices.
Responsibilities
1. Be the single point of contact and main liaison between the employer, the apprentices and the college.
2. Support, mentor and guide the apprentice during their apprenticeship to collate the evidence required for their qualification and Apprenticeship Standard or Programme.
3. Support the Apprentice through the EPA Process.
4. Complete apprentice reviews in a timely manner and ensure feedback/actions are fully communicated to all relevant parties.
5. Conduct Employer Premises Compliance visits and subsequent monitoring visits to ensure all matters in relation to Health and Safety and insurance are in place and the associated documentation and recording processes are adhered to.
6. Provide relevant information, guidance, updates and support to existing and new employers in relation to our curriculum offer including: Apprenticeship Service.
7. Work closely with the relevant curriculum team/s to monitor apprentice progress against their assessment plan and milestones.
8. Carry out assessment to national, college and awarding body standards and to support achievement of all elements of the programme.
9. Attend marketing or careers events at college or at other venues as required to promote the college's curriculum on offer.
10. To support the Head of Work Based Learning through a cycle of continual quality improvement.
The Ideal Candidate...
1. Experience of mentoring or coaching.
2. Evidence of formal structured training e.g. an apprenticeship.
3. A level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
4. Assessor award A1, or equivalent.
5. Current experience or assessor activity in any of the below:
* Engineering Maintenance
* Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
* Engineering Technical Support
* Additive, Manufacturing / Composites (Carbon)
* General Machining.
1. Vocational experience of working in industry and dealing with customers.
2. IT skills in Excel / Word / Outlook or similar software.
3. A driving licence free of major endorsements and/or the ability to travel within the Colleges recruitment area.
