The Dining Room under Dining by James Viles (One Hat) is a signature restaurant of Park Hyatt Sydney, and we are looking for a Restaurant Manager who is eager to further their career with Australia’s award-winning hotel.
We are searching for a passionate Assistant Manager who is focused on exceptional guest experience and is ready to bring their management skills and engaging personality to our signature restaurant. Led by James Viles, a respected chef and author, whose menu inspiration stems from the finest regional and coastal ingredients of Australia and a vision and dedication to sustainability. The Dining Room by James Viles aims to become one of Sydney’s food and drink destinations for tourists and locals alike.
About the Role
* Assists the Restaurant Manager to ensure that The Dining Room operates successfully and in accordance with brand standards.
* Works closely with the other Outlet Managers in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of guests.
* Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
* Handles guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and reports guest complaints or problems to supervisors if there is no immediate solution and assures follow-up with guests.
* Has full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct, and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned place of work to the set standards.
* Assists in onboarding new associates.
* Maximizes the effectiveness of employees by developing each of their skills and abilities through appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, the candidate should possess the following:
* Current NSW RSA Competency Card.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant or similar environment; experience in a Hatted restaurant is desirable.
* Diploma qualification in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, Business Management, or similar.
* Strong food and beverage service skills.
* Strong knowledge of wines and other beverages; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Familiarity with wine styles, grape varieties, and other beverage items.
