We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with skills in Java, React and AWS to join the team at a leading software consultancy. They provide innovative software solutions to a range of UK government organisations and are gearing up for exciting new projects in 2025.
The team works closely with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Home Office and other related organisations to deliver exceptional software. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping their software engineering projects.
With offices based across the UK, this will be a predominantly remote role with an occasional trip to the office or a client site every few months. If you prefer to go in more often, you can do so; there is full flexibility.
What you'll do:
1. Design and develop scalable and efficient software solutions using Java, AWS, and React to meet client requirements.
2. Collaborate with clients to gather and analyse technical requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of their business challenges.
3. Convert software engineering and AGILE methodology objectives into actionable development tasks, working closely with the Engineering team.
4. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and integration processes.
5. Contribute to the development and enhancement of new products, ensuring they align with customer needs and industry standards.
What you'll need:
1. Proficiency in Java, React and AWS.
2. Comprehensive understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle.
3. Proven experience as a Software Engineer; experience within a software consultancy is beneficial.
4. Experience across all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial scoping to project closure.
5. Working in agile environments using methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
6. Confidence in discussing complex technical problems within a technical environment.

1. £60-70k salary depending on experience.

Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must be eligible for security clearance. To qualify, you must be a British Citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the past 5 years.
