Job Description:
Recover outstanding debts from clients or customers, primarily working in the finance or credit departments. Use communication methods like phone, email, and letters to encourage payments and negotiate arrangements.
Responsibilities:
* Monitoring accounts: Identify overdue payments and assess the status of delinquent accounts.
* Contacting debtors: Reach out via phone, email, and letters to discuss overdue payments and encourage timely payment.
* Negotiating payment plans: Work with customers to establish mutually agreeable payment arrangements, including installment plans.
* Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain detailed records of all communications and actions related to collections.
* Troubleshooting and resolving issues: Investigate discrepancies, resolve billing disputes, and assist customers with payment concerns.
* Reporting and analysis: Prepare reports on collection activities, track payment progress, and identify areas for improvement.
* Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to legal, ethical, and company policies.
Qualifications:
* 2+ years of administrative or collection-related experience and business experience
* Experience in the commercial cleaning, restoration, insurance, or service industry is preferred
* Experience with AR
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including proper pronunciation and grammar, maintaining a courteous and professional tone
* Ability to stay calm and professional in stressful situations
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Self-motivated and goal-oriented
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Proficiency in AR workflow, QBO Online, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Ability to learn new software, including Xactimate and proprietary systems
* Minimum HSD/GED; Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
* Ability to pass a background check as required by law
