An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new 0.5 wte Band 8a Clinical psychologist (permanent) in Adult Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell (CAR-T) Therapy sitting within the Clinical Haematology Psychology service at Nottingham University Hospitals.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist who is interested in expanding their experience in working with adults with long term physical health conditions. The post holder will develop and provide a clinical psychology service for adults undergoing CAR-T therapy for haematological malignancies at Nottingham City Hospital. This role could be combined very effectively with other vacant positions within the wider Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology Department. It is essential that the post-holder has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and to be HCPC registered by the time of commencing in post. The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will usually be based at Nottingham City Hospital.
Main duties of the job
In this role, the post holder will provide psychological assessment and ongoing management to adults undergoing CAR-T therapy in Nottingham City Hospital. The clinical psychologist will play a key part in the MDT case management of patients and will offer specialist advice, consultation and supervision to non-psychologists within the service.
Appropriate clinical supervision will be provided by clinical psychologist working in the Adult Medical Psychology Service. Currently, the post will be supervised by a very experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist working within Clinical Haematology.
There is lots of scope for career development; from CPD and developing further skills in the speciality and supporting service development and innovation, the chance to contribute to research, or policy work in psychology care for individuals undergoing CAR-T therapy.
