Rate of Pay: £29.00 - £36.38 per hour
Summary:
North Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Social Worker to work within our Child Welfare System. This role requires extensive child protection and court experience, working in a strength-based way with children and families to ensure their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of child care legislation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners and team colleagues.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks, strengths, and required interventions.
2. Develop and implement child protection plans, ensuring the safety and welfare of children in need.
3. Work directly with children and families using systemic principles, Signs of Safety, and Family Seeing Methodology to support positive outcomes.
4. Provide court reports and give evidence in family court proceedings as required.
5. Ensure compliance with child welfare legislation, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
1. Social Work England Registration (must be without annotations or restrictions on practice).
2. A minimum of three years post-qualified experience in children's social work, in compliance with new agency rules.
3. Extensive experience in child protection and court work.
4. Strong knowledge of child care legislation and best practice models.
5. Experience working within multi-agency partnerships.
6. A full UK driver's license and access to a vehicle is essential.
