Systems Support Officer The Systems Support Officer will be supporting the Planning Service undertaking a very important role in providing systems support in the upkeep, configuration, maintenance and reliable operation and digital based operating systems. The post holder will be required to supervise the Business support team and a team of planning technicians in the provision of all aspects of customer and business support to achieve the expectations of Cheshire East customer delivery service. You will play an integral part within our Business Support operation, managing and supporting a team of staff, to deliver a variety of tasks including dealing with enquiries/complaints related to Planning issues. In addition, you will manage a small group of staff who deal with Planning validation work, this will require collaboration with the Senior Planning Technician to ensure targets and aspirations to meet a variety of objectives are continually attained. The role will also lead on ensuring our Planning systems is updated as necessary including managing the implementation of data correction within the planning system. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate that they are confident in using computers (training provided) and will actively support any change/improvements projects. The role will provide you with a great opportunity to utilise a variety of skills including: Previous customer complaints experience managing a variety of complex cases Excellent communication skills to manage a variety of audiences Evaluation and assessment of workloads to meet set priorities Time management skills to deliver a wider and varied range of demanding requirements in a timely manner Monitoring team performance and developing strategies for change/improvement to maximise best use of resources, systems and processes Implementing training plans and supporting staff in future development Liaising with Planning staff to meet the greater needs of the service.
