Manor Road Surgery has a vacancy for part time prescriptions clerk. The position will be 15 hours per week, with scope to work extra hours on a as needed basis, up to 30 hours per week.
Job Summary:
To provide quick, efficient and accurate preparation of prescriptions for patients. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Main Duties of the Job
Job Responsibilities:
Dispensing
1. Updating patients repeat screens on doctors' instructions
2. Liaising with hospital departments regarding patient medication
3. Liaising with doctors
4. Ensuring the dispensary area remains clean and tidy
Prescriptions
1. Handing out prescriptions
2. Taking prescription requests received by telephone, email, SystmOne online, repeat slips, and face to face
3. Sorting and stamping prescriptions for end of month returns
4. Generating prescriptions
Other
1. Ordering stock for the practice via Hengate Pharmacy
2. Audits on medication
3. Changes to patients medication via Medicines Management Team (after approval from GP)
Administration
1. To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
2. To work in accordance with written protocols
3. Pulling/filing notes as necessary
4. Electronically filing post into patients records
Telephone
1. Have a working knowledge of the telephone system, during and after hours

About Us
Manor Road Surgery was established in the 1920's, we are a 14,000 patient list size practice with 8 partners and 31 staff. The practice is part of the Beverley PCN and works closely with the other Beverley Surgeries.
Staff are entitled to 5.4 weeks annual leave pro rata and eligible to join the NHS pension scheme. Pay will depend on experience.
