Student Counsellor Required: Preston College, Lancashire
Salary: £27,890 to £31,237 per year
Type: Permanent – Part-time
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking individual to join our Student Services Counselling team. You will be qualified to the level of Advanced Diploma or Foundation Degree in Counselling, have BACP registration, and have experience of delivering an effective counselling service, preferably working with young people and adults with a wide range of needs.
The Student Counsellor will be responsible for providing high-quality, professional, and flexible counselling support by accurately assessing and meeting the needs of our diverse student cohort. This includes the administration of the service in line with the BACP Ethical Framework and the College’s referral and operational guidelines. You will also be required to maintain good relationships with relevant external agencies that provide specialist support to our learners, thereby maximizing the opportunities for them to reach their potential both personally and academically.

Job Title: Student Counsellor (depending on qualifications and experience). There will be an opportunity for progression within this pay range.
Hours: 0.52 FTE, 21.8 hours per week, 38 weeks term time only
