We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual with a proven passion for sustainability to join our highly committed team as our new Sustainability Manager. This role offers the opportunity for a hybrid working pattern (3 days remote subject to business requirements) and is based at our Grange Park 3 site (NN4 5FB).
As a key member of our organisation, joining us on our growing sustainability journey, you will play a vital role in driving Yusen Logistics Sustainability agenda forward. This role offers the exciting opportunity to bring innovative ideas and drive positive engagement across the business and partner networks to deliver both internal and customer plans. Effectively collaborating and communicating across a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to foster a sustainability mindset within the business. This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum (DOE) with £6,000 car allowance per annum.
The shift pattern is predominantly a Monday – Friday working 09:00-17:00 (some flexibility may be required subject to business requirements).

Key responsibilities:
* Taking the lead on our sustainability agenda through developing short to long term strategies, influencing internal and external stakeholders (including EU 3PL partners) to gain buy-in and achieve objectives.
* Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to implement and drive sustainable initiatives, ensuring full compliance across the business.
* Responsible for training team members on sustainability initiatives and championing it across the business.
* Become the main sustainability subject matter expert point of contact for the business and our customer, offering guidance on the current landscape.
* Gain a continuous strong understanding of current developments in technology, analysing the benefits and challenges of each.
* Be at the forefront of regulatory changes and reporting methodologies, giving regular insight into market trends and opportunities to our stakeholders.
* Gather, check and present data for annual and any ad-hoc reporting, including GHG emissions.
* Promote Yusen corporate values and objectives and develop initiatives in line with the company’s strategic vision.
* Business case development linked to commercial impacts with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Support the business with sustainability dashboards in addition to producing all project documentation including project plan, scope, impact of change, meeting minutes, RAID log management.
Key Requirements:
* Logistics management experience, preferably in a 3/4PL pharmaceutical environment, although experience in other sectors such as manufacturing or retail is also highly advantageous.
* A clear passion for sustainable and responsible business (essential).
* A-Level or Degree (desirable)
* Proven experience within a similar sustainability focused role.
* A background in project management (highly advantageous).
* The ability to lead without authority across a senior stakeholder group.
* An understanding of broad ESG principles and the regulatory and reporting landscape (desirable).
* The ability to work with complex data and produce useful insights.
* Proven experience of customer engagement, with the proven ability to build effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
* Open to travel as this role requires some travel to the EU.
* A strong attention to detail.
* Good working knowledge & understanding of effective customer & supplier relationship management principles.
* Proven ability to influence, manage, motivate, coach and develop teams.
