Carbon Recruitment are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join an M&E Building Services, Design and Project Management Consultancy. The Project Planner reports to the Head of Delivery and is responsible for ensuring that the project schedules that they work on meet client requirements and are delivered to the highest quality and on time. The Project Planner will be expected to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to define assignments and tasks required to support a range of heat network related projects. You must be proactive and comfortable working with minimal supervision, but also understand your own limitations and seek support/approval when required. You must be engaged in your own personal development, as it is essential the Project Planner has a strong project management and commercial understanding of most of the areas and services that our client manage. Duties & Responsibilities Be fully conversant with Microsoft Project and SmartSheets. Prepare and update design, procurement and construction programmes for prequalifications, funding applications, tenders and live projects. Develop, maintain and update project programmes in accordance with NEC contract requirements, ensuring the integration of all project activities and alignment with contractual requirements. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to define assignments and tasks to complete the project. Communicate with external stakeholders to arrange project deadlines. Monitor progress on each project task and report potential issues, delays and adjust the schedule to compensate. Key Requirements Ideally degree qualified in project management/relevant engineering discipline, minimum HND/HNC. Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering project planning and/or technical awareness of M&E systems/heat networks. A thorough and demonstratable knowledge of planning software such as MS Project and SmartSheets. Demonstrable experience in contract and tender planning with an ability to take the lead in the programme and time management of construction projects. Demonstrable experience in tenders and contracts administered under JCT and NEC forms of contract. Appropriately trained and knowledgeable in Health and Safety, with a CSCS card/SMSTS.
