Access Talent Group are recruiting for a multidisciplinary design consultancy engaged in numerous high-profile projects for clients in both the Private and Public sectors. Their Transportation division covers all aspects of multidisciplinary design and management from inception to options appraisal through to detailed scheme design and delivery support. They are recruiting for a Principal Civil Engineer to support the ongoing expansion of business opportunities within the strategic highways and local transport market across the UK.
The Role:
* Responsible for coordinating resources to exceed Client expectations, working within budget expectations, building a network of external and internal Clients.
* Lead and manage project delivery.
* Negotiate fees and manage commercial positions on projects.
* Develop relationships with the wider teams throughout the company.
* Ensure compliance of the team’s work with a high regard to Health and Safety and the application of the CDM Regulations and other legislation.
* Supervise and take responsibility for members of the team, including programming and allocating work and assisting in the training and development of staff, setting goals and monitoring their performance.
* Abide by the objectives and targets of the practice and follow procedures and practices utilised in all aspects of the work, including computerised and manual systems and the maintenance of relevant records.
* Prepare schemes for tender using the NEC family of Forms of Contract, Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works including use of Specification for Highway Works and the Standard Method of Measurement.
* A track record of successful tendering and delivery of schemes in either the local or national transport market or for private developer clients.
* Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) or other relevant design standards.
* Experience of managing a professional team on projects.
* Organisational skills to coordinate the delivery activities of a professional team.
* A clear understanding of the importance of robust business processes and systems and a strong commitment to quality.
* Strong communication and influencing skills; Client-focused.
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 Per Annum
