The role You’ll be responsible for leading our tender team that focus on ensuring we demonstrate why Bupa is better for business with prospective, current and renewing clients. The role is instrumental to manage and deliver our customer value proposition and providing strategic support to our commercial and distribution activities, alongside our broader client engagement programme. You’ll help us make it happen by: Act as thought leader, creating a centre of excellence to ensure all bids/tenders/presentations support our commercial ambitions are compelling, professionally executed and provide the best opportunity for success. Ownership of the bid/tender/presentation process and the continual pipeline management of new and renewing tenders to ensure we met and exceed our sales conversion and renewal targets. Ensure the robust management of all agreed commercial opportunities, including working collaboratively with key stakeholders from around the business to ensure the client needs are met and how best to articulate the Bupa value proposition. Support commercial negotiations / pitches working closely with appropriate leads in the wider Commercial Teams to translate the broader brand proposition ensuring the delivery of the agreed brand and customer experience. Lead the team ensuring the timely delivery of work/content including the writing of bespoke content to meet clients’ needs, managing the process at every stage including stakeholder feedback and working with experts across the business to ensure the latest insight and innovations from Bupa are brought to life. Accountable for supporting growth across UK Insurance and Clinics in new business (Sales P & L), revenue and conversion of new opportunities to concluded deals ensuring opportunities to cross-sell and present an integrated Bupa proposition are maximised. Lead and own all Supplier Questionnaires and Due Diligence for UKI and Clinics B2B customers. Monitor user experience and feedback to improve future communications and events to improve their effectiveness and efficiency. Support the implementation of the successful outcomes of bids and tenders, using the expertise from within Products and Propositions team, and the wider Commercial organisation. Obtain collective agreement with key stakeholders on operational capacity and risk appetite for new bids and tenders, and proactively identifies any additional support required. Represent Bupa externally in any meetings with potential and existing B2B Clients and Intermediaries. Support our Sales colleagues in the ongoing relationship management of agreed existing clients through the customer lifecycle – including account reviews, growth opportunities and strategic engagements. Work closely with our Sales Colleagues on the nurturing of future commercial opportunities through the SAS [ Strategic Account Support] program. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role Previous experience as a tender writer in a Financial Services / healthcare environment with experience of working with Intermediaries and Corporate clients within a regulated environment is a must Must have tender writing experience Line manager experience and previous experience of leading a team with direct reports Proven track record of setting strategic direction and maximising business success through bidding and tenders with medium and large corporate clients. Strong programme and project management skills combined with execution focus. Proven analytical and numerical skills with the ability to assimilate and analyse information and data from a variety of sources and use this to plan effectively to ensure objectives are met. PC literate and the ability to communicate messages effectively via a range of Microsoft packages (PowerPoint, Excel, word etc.) Fully conversant in using Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Exceptional experience of successfully influencing decisions with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership and coaching skills with the drive and commitment to build, lead and inspire a high calibre, motivated team. Strong relationship management with experience of liaising with external partners, third party suppliers’ key decision makers and internal stakeholder relationships (e.g., Planning, Compliance, Audit, Sales, HR, Finance, IS, Commissioning, Provisioning) Be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of production techniques in the design industry through their portfolio.
