We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join a well-established and respected legal team in Edinburgh. This role is pivotal in supporting two Partners within our busy Residential Conveyancing department. This position is a traditional secretarial role, offering the chance to become an integral part of a team handling a high volume of residential conveyancing transactions. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Providing comprehensive secretarial support to two Partners specialising in Residential Conveyancing.
2. Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
3. Preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
4. Handling telephone enquiries and liaising with clients and other professionals.
5. Maintaining and organising physical and electronic files.
6. Processing and managing incoming and outgoing mail.
7. Conducting Land Registry searches and other relevant administrative tasks.
8. Audio typing and digital dictation.
9. Assisting with file management and archiving.
10. Ensuring compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
What We're Looking For:
1. Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Residential Conveyancing department.
2. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
5. A proactive and professional approach.
6. Experience with Land Registry procedures is highly desirable.
7. Experience with audio typing and digital dictation.
