Job Description
Primary School in Wigan, 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, after Feb half-term start
Your new company
Hays have been approached by a primary school located in the Wigan area who are looking to appoint a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work 5 days a week, supporting a child with various needs. This role will begin after the February half-term and continue through until the end of the academic year, potentially turning permanent for the right candidate. This is a mainstream primary school, with a great supportive system for children with SEN. This school is easily accessible via public transport.
Your new role
Your new role will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child with special educational needs. Your day will consist of providing one-to-one support for a child who is based in Year 2. There are no behavioural concerns, and you are required to make sure the child remains on track with their learning and follows their timetable. You may be asked to support in various other classes when you are not supporting on a 1:1 basis, so you will need to be proactive.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have recent experience working with children and ideally previous experience supporting SEN children. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting, as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start after the February half-term and commit to this role fully.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate and will be working in this successful school where you will become an integral part of a welcoming team of TAs. You will therefore have the opportunity to further develop your own teaching assistant skills and experience.
