The HGMS Phase 3a Estates project is part of a multi-phase programme and is responsible for the design and build of appropriate infrastructure changes to the Applecross estate. These estate changes will house the hardware necessary to operate the HGMS as part of an improved UK underway noise ranging solution, satisfying the interfaces identified by the DoD Interface Requirements Specification (IRS) and subsequent Interface Design Descriptions (IDD) and existing BUTEC systems.
The Role
As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the effective project management of multiple suppliers to ensure the infrastructure changes are delivered within scope, time, and cost, ensuring the ranges are capable, available, and safe. You will engage regularly with the MOD DE&S project team and at programme level with QinetiQ.

Day-to-day, you will:
* Deliver high value and complex projects (c £5m)
* Deliver project outputs to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash, and sales)
* Ensure project members operate in line with the Operating Framework functional competency management requirements
* Maintain forecasts (both financial and resource demand signal) for sales and delivery
* Apply governance requirements for foundation sales and delivery work
* Report progress on all accountabilities to programme/portfolio manager (or their delegate)
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, hybrid (three days on-site, the rest from home), with an expectation to travel to Scotland once a month for a three to five-day visit.
Experience of the Programme Manager:
* Demonstrable experience leading a business, projects, programmes, portfolios, or P3 function and successfully delivering complex projects
* Experience delivering defence, engineering, and/or IT projects
* Strong Stakeholder Management skills
* Ability to manage multiple external suppliers
* Experience in Defence, Aerospace, or closely related sectors
Qualifications of the Programme Manager:
* Hold a recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2)
