The Accounting Technician plays a crucial role in supporting Accountants and Finance Managers by delivering flexible and professional financial services that contribute to the effective management of the Council’s budget in line with the Council Plan.
This position involves providing essential support to our maintained schools, serving as the primary point of contact for the schools. Responsibilities include reviewing cheque book school returns and school budget reports, managing cash flow requests, and processing quarterly VAT claims. The role also involves handling reimbursements for cheque book schools, processing journals, responding to queries, allocating various ad hoc grants, and assisting with the year-end financial closedown activities.
You will need to be able to work accurately under pressure, collaborating within a team while also using your initiative to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
